Every July, the country comes alive with the celebration of Nutrition Month, a reminder that making healthy choices isn’t just about personal well-being, and it’s about shaping stronger families, healthier communities and a better nation. This year’s theme, “Food and Nutrition Security: Maging Priority. Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin” speaks for itself. It tells us that access to healthy, sufficient food is not a luxury, it’s a basic human right. This celebration isn’t just a school program with posters and contests, it’s a nationwide movement encouraging everyone to step up and be a part of building a healthier future.
This year, I found myself right in the middle of that mission. As the class president of 10-Marconi, I led our class in creating a Nutri-Jingle meant to spread the message of the theme. We poured our creativity into creating a meaninful song, hoping to inspire others to choose healthy meals. Though we fell short by not winning the competition, but the process became the real prize. Each voice, each beat, each idea reminded us that teamwork and collaboration lits great minds. While we didn’t bag the trophy, we were honored to be chosen to represent all Grade 10 sections at the school’s Food Festival. There, we sell foods that were not only tasty but also healthy. But Nutrition Month is bigger than a jingle, poster making, or a single event. It’s a call to action. It reminds us that every plate of food we eat, every conversation we start, and every effort we make contributes to something much bigger. 
As we sang our jingle and shared our food, I realized that the lesson went far beyond contests or events. Nutrition Month taught us that we all carry a responsibility, to never stop sharing the message. Because when we work together, we’re not just filling plates, we’re fueling dreams, futures, and hope for a healthier tomorrow.
